![]() ![]() Going through the Ulm proof house could have significantly delayed the delivery of the bulk of the run. Since these pistols are being sold in the USA, and the USA does not require proofing at all, or CIP compliance, it seems logical that a decision was made to expedite the majority of the pistols, by skipping the trip to Ulm and the process of proofing there, and let the US branch proof at least the barrels (unclear if the whole pistol is proofed as it is in Europe) and install the sights, which perhaps also accounts for some of the reports of incorrect sight installation (including one of mine). This is a link to the proof house in Ulm indicating the steps they are taking. If I can be allowed to speculate, I suppose it’s possibly because the process of getting the pistols through the proofing process in Ulm has been disrupted by the pandemic regulations in Germany. I’ve stated on another thread that the US proofed units seem to be sometime after serial number -3700. ![]()
